London Borough of Harrow Enhances resident security with Comelit-PAC.
Comelit-PAC has enhanced its partnership with the London Borough of Harrow, responding to resident feedback with tailored security solutions that continue to prioritise community safety and well-being.
London Borough of Harrow has consistently demonstrated its commitment to putting residents at the centre of every project. Recognising security as a fundamental concern, Harrow sought solutions that not only protect but also build trust within its communities.
A key part of this strategy has been Comelit-PAC’s ongoing involvement in the borough’s engagement with residents through regular consultation meetings, ensuring their needs and concerns are directly reflected in the outcomes.
“We pride ourselves on listening to our residents who guide us in creating environments where they feel both safe and supported,” said Mark Crodden, Project Manager & QS Housing Services, Housing & Regeneration Directorate at the London Borough of Harrow. “Working with Comelit-PAC has allowed us to design and implement solutions that address these concerns effectively, enhancing the security and sense of community in our housing blocks.”
In collaboration with Comelit-PAC, the borough has implemented door entry systems that blend seamlessly with their surroundings. A key component is the removal of traditional ‘Trades’ buttons on entry panels and the installation of external letterboxes, which have significantly boosted security, reducing the risk of unauthorised access.
The introduction of better external lighting and increased natural light into the housing blocks has also contributed to creating a welcoming atmosphere, further improving residents’ sense of safety and comfort.
Meeting practical needs has been a key element of Harrow’s resident-first approach, working with Comelit-PAC to create functional spaces such as scooter stores, refuse stores, and cycle stores, designed to support contemporary living.
Comelit-PAC’s PAC cloud system has enabled Harrow to administer fobs for secure access in a more efficient and controlled manner. This system allows real-time monitoring, helping the borough identify and respond to block-specific issues swiftly.
Councillor Parmar, Portfolio Holder for Housing at the London Borough of Harrow added: “As our residents’ needs evolve, so must our approach. The cloud-based system allows for better oversight, and by creating a sense of a ‘mini-family’ in each block, the borough is creating a community spirit. The modernisation of these spaces—whether it’s a scooter store or wider doors for accessibility—shows we are listening and adapting to the lifestyle needs of our residents.”
Beyond security and design, Harrow and Comelit-PAC are both committed to sustainability. The use of lower power consumption systems, alongside the green footprint of Comelit-PAC’s manufacturing processes, reflects the borough’s dedication to reducing its environmental impact.
Paul Scott, Sales Manager at Comelit-PAC, concludes: “Our partnership with Harrow is about building sustainable communities. By consistently paying attention to what residents want and need, we’re helping to interject a living environment where people feel safe and part of something larger.
“Evolving system design has been central to our partnership. It’s about making sure solutions integrate seamlessly into the surroundings while enhancing the everyday living experience. All coming together to inspire trust, community, and shared pride in where residents live; building safer, brighter, and more connected neighbourhoods.”
