Comelit-PAC has supplied an advanced CCTV solution for the newly constructed Mermaid Quay Multi-Storey Car Park in Cardiff Bay, supporting the security and operational oversight at one of Wales’ most popular waterfront destinations.
 
Home to a vibrant mix of restaurants, bars, leisure attractions and businesses, Mermaid Quay attracts millions of visitors to Cardiff Bay each year. The new car park provides extra floors and over 300 additional carpark spaces to support the continued investment into leisure in Cardiff Bay.
 
With high volumes of vehicle and pedestrian traffic set to move through the multi-storey car park daily, Cardiff Council required a reliable CCTV solution capable of providing comprehensive coverage across the facility while supporting the safety of visitors, tenants and staff.
 
Delivered in partnership with Innovative Fire & Security and GOLDBECK Construction, Comelit-PAC supplied the comprehensive video surveillance system while Innovative Fire & Security designed and coordinated the installation to provide extensive coverage throughout the facility.

The completed system comprises a 128-channel network video recorder and 104 CCTV cameras strategically positioned across vehicle access points, parking levels, stairwells and pay stations, enabling effective monitoring of activity throughout the site. The CCTV package includes to transmit the images to the Mermaid Quay control room for remote security control and management of the system.
 
The scale and layout of the multi-storey car park required a solution capable of delivering clear visibility across multiple levels while providing operators with rapid access to recorded footage when required. The Comelit-PAC CCTV system was specified by Innovative Fire & Security to meet these operational requirements and delivered with minimal disruption to the day-to-day operation of the site.
