Comelit Enables Secure Communications at Milan’s Olympic Village.

Comelit has supported the delivery of advanced door entry systems for the Villaggio Olimpico Milano Cortina 2026.

Located in the redeveloped Porta Romana district in Milan, the Olympic Village has been designed to host athletes during the Games before transitioning into student accommodation as part of the long-term regeneration of the area.

With multiple residential buildings and shared facilities across the site, the development required a reliable communication infrastructure capable of supporting everyday access management and emergency communication throughout the complex.

Working alongside installation partner Famiglia Milani, Comelit delivered an IP-based door entry system designed to connect multiple points across the development within a single, fully integrated solution. The scale of the village called for a system that could be deployed efficiently across multiple buildings while remaining straightforward to manage, with the flexibility to support future expansion as the site evolves.

The installation included 18 external entrance panels positioned at key access points, Mini series video monitors installed within residential units, together with four IP porter switchboards located throughout the village.

The IP architecture enables the system to operate seamlessly across multiple buildings without distance limitations, maintaining communication between residents, concierge teams and security staff throughout the site. Centralised porter switchboards oversee calls from entrance panels, allowing security teams to manage access and respond quickly when needed.

While developed to support the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the infrastructure has been designed with the long-term future of the buildings in mind. After the Games conclude, the residences will transition into student housing, with the IP-based system continuing to support communication and safety across the development.
